I was a drug dealer & a drug user.
It was all about the control & power. I was also
a full time nurse, went to work high or too tired
to think straight, putting everyone's life at risk.
Until a man named Don Wood, tricked me into coming
to Loving Heart's monday night meeting. I met Dove
and she gave me a copy of A Bear & A Dove. I went
home & read the whole thing. I laughed & I
cried. It changed my life. I knew that if God could
love & change a man like Bear, then he could hange
me too. I went back & got saved in Sept. 2007,
I was baptized in July of 2008. Been blessed since
& I thank God every night for Don, Dove &
the book. Praise God!

Dear Pastor Dove,
I want to thank you so much for sending your awesome
book to me. It is really a light in a dark place.
Sin is all over this place but I choose to stay clean.
I thank God for your ministry that teaches us a better
way of life. I know if Bear could do it, so can I.
I want to give back somehow but I don't have any money.
Would you accept stamps as a gift from me?

Dear Loving Hearts,
It was awesome how you came to this unit on your bikes,
even as cold as it was. I want to thank you so much
for giving me your book, A Bear and A Dove.
I read it all the way through and even missed chow
instead of putting it down. I just couldn't stop reading
it. I laughed and I cried all the way through. I just
wanted to tell you that I take the Bear Challenge
and I will live like Bear did for the rest of my life.
I only wish I could've met him. My life will never
be the same.

Dear Pastor Dove,
I just finished reading your book, A Bear
and A Dove, and I laughed one minute and
cried the next. I have to tell you that I had just
about lost all hope lately and your book came at a
time when I was on the bottom. I was convinced that
the only way out was to commit suicide. Now I know
that if Bear could do it, so can I. I take the Bear
Challenge and I'll never be the same.

Dear Pastor Dove,
I just got your book yesterday, A
Bear and A Dove, and I couldn't put
it down. I stayed up until 2:00 a.m. reading it and
it is the best book I have ever read! It is the only
book that made me cry. It really touched me like nothing
else has. I already shared it with some of the inmates
here and one officer. It gives a lot of guys hope
in here to know you can go from the baddest to the
best when you know God.
